Recently I started to dig into jazz (fusion+progressive)
I keep seeing the term RIO, and Google can't give other hints than to city
in Brazil.
Can anyone enlighten me?

I'm not convinced that this is necessarily the intended meaning,
though it might be.

RIO could also mean "Recording of Indeterminate Origin". (I believe
that the use of that particular term arose with particular reference
to Pink Floyd music, but has since spread more widely.) I suspect that
there might be other possible meanings: a bit of context would have
helped.

The term RIO is in the description of this newsgroup, along with Canterbury
and Symphonic Rock
